Dr. Hirschman is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He is a Michigan native and completed his undergraduate studies at Central Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He attended medical school at Michigan State University, earned his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and graduated second in his medical school class. Finally, Dr. Hirschman completed his dermatology residency at Beaumont Hospital where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Hirschman is board-certified through the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
Most importantly, Dr. Hirschman is a proud husband and father. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and staying active.
Matt Zoeteman, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Associate proud to serve patients at H2 Dermatology. A Grand Rapids native, Matt brings a wealth of local expertise to the team, having previously practiced at the Psoriasis & Eczema Treatment Center (formerly MA Stawiski Dermatology).
Matt earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University in 2017, following a successful career as an orthopedic RN. This background in nursing deeply informs his patient-first philosophy; Matt believes every patient deserves to be treated like family.
Outside of the clinic, Matt enjoys exploring Michigan’s great outdoors with his wife, Cait, and their rescue black lab, Zeke. Whether he’s at the Muskegon dog beach or cycling through Grand Rapids, he stays active in the community he calls home.
Jean Barker, PA-C is a dermatology trained and NCCPA certified Physician Assistant. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Central Michigan University and went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Western Michigan University.
She has been practicing in Dermatology since 2022. She is passionate about medical dermatology and making her patients feel confident in their own skin. Her interests include treatment of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, acne, and skin cancer monitoring. She is skilled in performing comprehensive skin exams and minor surgical procedures.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband and son.
Alexa Boersen, PA-C, earned her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University in 2015 and has 10 years of experience in general surgery. She brings a strong surgical background and a patient-focused approach to her role at the Psoriasis Eczema Center.
Alexa specializes in surgical dermatology, performing minor in-office procedures to remove skin cancers, cysts, and other skin growths. She enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their care and values taking the time to answer questions and make procedures as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Outside of work, Alexa enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
